History is like some foreign language to me. I just spent 5 minutes trying to get through one page, and I still don't really know what's going on. Why are there so many names for everything?!

The easiest thing to do with history is to just read it through and let it all sink in. I think that's why bio kicks my ass so much, since having to be crazy about it isn't how I study for the rest of my classes. Most of the names in history, you'll find, aren't too important unless they're mentioned more than once.

I adore/love/live for history :) it's like stories, but they really happened (give or take an overtelling or two). :) Just read it as fiction - makes it a lot easier. Get to know the characters and do outside research. But... that is a lot of work :/

You probably don't need to worry too much about names, except maybe for the kings/presidents/etc. and who replaced them, so long as you can get then general idea. Other than that, sometimes it helps to read another source. History textbooks aren't always all that great in terms of clarity.
